Maker Portrait: Landrum Tables
01-Jan-2021
Capers Landrum Cauthen is a native Charlestonian and craftsman.
“Every piece of recycled wood I incorporate into my handmade designs reveals its origin, personality, and age in a thousand tiny ways – from the tool marks and style of construction to the type of wood used.”
Having spent a lifetime watching the destruction of old buildings, and with them, the memories within Charleston County, Capers dedicated himself to repurposing and reclaiming the wood that makes up the area's history.
Landrum Tables is located in Charleston, South Carolina (USA).
“Each piece of wood has its own characteristics. I try to save as much of that character as I can because that’s where the true beauty is.”
