Amber Furniture Maker

Maker Portrait: REDU NYC

01-Jan-2021

REDU NYC, led by Amber Lasciak, is a sustainable interiors and furniture design company. Amber believes that “trash is a mentality,” and wants to help make NYC green by keeping usable materials out of landfills.

"Our goal is to keep usable materials out of landfills, up-cycling them with sustainable design, into objects of utility and beauty."

The hope is that one day, instead of gratefully giving away their scraps, construction sites and workshops will capitalize on the wealth of leftover materials. All of REDU’s products are made from 99% re-use of materials.

REDU NYC is located in Brooklyn, New York (USA).

“Sustainability is the only acceptable form of progress.”

Originally: discarded furniture and dry-waste construction materials

REDU rescues furniture and dry waste construction materials before they enter the waste-stream. Everything is taken from deconstructed buildings, maker workshops, and local businesses. They rescue what others believe no longer has value and upcycle them into pieces of utility.
